The daily (except Sunday) lunch program at 30th Street Senior Center attracted so many diners this spring that the staff had to limit the seating for several weeks, due to a projected budget shortage. In June, the city came up with money to pay for extra meals. But the lunch program remains worried that if current trends continue, it may be forced to turn away seniors again.
